The Dental Implant Process

placement

During your dental implant placement, your doctor will make a small incision in your gums to securely place the dental implant in the jaw. Next, the area will be cleaned and sutured to begin the healing process, ensuring a comfortable recovery.

Healing

The incision site will be healed in 1-2 weeks. However, it will take 3-6 months for the implant to bond with your jawbone. We will schedule a few check-ups throughout the process to confirm you are healing properly.

03

Restoration

After the implant bonds with your jaw, we will place your custom-designed restoration, typically a dental crown. It securely attaches to the implant with an abutment. Your smile will be fully restored once your new tooth is in place!

Our philosophy

iSmile Dental Care of Middletown is a Middletown Township based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment. We are a cosmetic dentist that offers services like checkups, teeth cleaning, veneers and more.

We also perform emergency dentist services that include bonding, root canals, crowns, and bridges. As a local dentist, we create lifelong relationships with our patients and their families and work to ensure that they receive treatments in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Education

Dr. Beheiry received his bachelor's degree at the Alexandria University's College of Dentistry, where he completed his bachelor's degree in dental medicine and surgery.
He then completed his doctorate in dental surgery degree at the New York University's College of Dentistry.
He has received training in oral maxillofacial dentistry from the NYU Clinical Orthodontic Enrichment Program and the Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Baghaei received her dental degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She then completed her general practice residency at the Montefiore Medical Center.

Do Dental Implants Stop Bone Loss?

Yes. After losing a tooth, your jaw will no longer be stimulated by the natural pressure of chewing and biting. This causes bone loss to occur and also weakens the jaw bone. When the dental implant post is placed, it will bond directly into the jaw bone and act as an artificial tooth root. This titanium “tooth root” transmits the force of chewing and biting through the dental crown and into your jawbone just like a real tooth would, keeping it healthy and strong.

How Are Dental Implants Made?

Titanium dental implants are made in trusted laboratories that supply a wide selection of pre-selected standard post sizes. The crown, on the other hand, is a custom-made tooth replacement. This ensures you get a personalized result that meets your needs and wishes. Most crowns are crafted out of porcelain, which is durable and matches your natural smile. Once your crown is ready, we will complete the procedure by securely attaching your implant crown in place.

How Long Will My Dental Implant Last?

When placed properly and maintained with care through good at-home hygiene and regular checkups, dental implants can last for 30 years or more. In fact, it’s common for patients to keep their implants for the rest of their lives. The implant restoration, however, may not last as long. Restorations such as dental crowns or overdentures take on regular wear and tear from chewing, biting, and more.
